Growing In Knowing God Is Spiritual Growth

Having a relationship with God is growing in knowing God. 

Colossians 1:10 (NIV) says, "So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,"

Whatever level you are in knowing God, there is more to knowing him. 

I share this because your spirit, soul, and body desire a relationship with God. 

The following are three signs when anyone is desiring a relationship with God:

1. Dreading any part of life

2. Restlessness in the mind

3. Silent frustration in the soul/heart

These signs are saying from your spirit, soul, and body, I need God. 

Growing in knowing God is spiritual growth. It's having a relationship with God above everything else. It's how God satisfies you.

God turns your dread into God-given desires, restlessness to rest in the mind, and silent frustration into a satisfied heart. 

It's God's plan that you know the fullness of his character and actions toward you.  

God revealed his character to Moses in Exodus 34:6.

Exodus 34:6 (NKJV) says, "And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,"

It is the same for you.

God desires you to know more of his mercy, grace, patience, and abundance of goodness and truth.

Moses desired a relationship with God and prayed to know God in Exodus 33:13.

Moses said in Exodus 33:13 (NIV), "If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you..."

It's good to pray to God like Moses when your spirit, soul, and body desire more of God. 

God will reveal more of himself to you when you seek him. 

Growing in knowing God is part of discovering your God-given potential, leading with courage, fulfilling your calling, and living well.
