Do you ever get an urge or push that you should be doing something?

It may be to improve a specific area in your life or to be a better person.

The urge or push are desires in your heart.

Desire influences your will, which is part of your soul to act. It is an internal force in your heart that pushes you to action.

In other words, God uses desires to influence you to take action.

How do you know which desires come from the Lord?

Psalm 37:4 (NIV) states, "Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

You discover God-given desires by delighting in the Lord.

How do you delight in the Lord?

Delight is a high degree of pleasure or satisfaction in the mind.

Delighting in the Lord is having intimate knowledge about the Lord—a high degree of pleasure or satisfaction of the Lord in your mind.

The following are six areas of knowledge for delighting in the Lord:

1. Knowing God

2. Knowing God's truth

3. Knowing who God created you to be

4. Knowing how God created you

5. Knowing why God made you

6. Know his plans for your life

You experience God-given desires when you delight in the Lord.

Be well,

Tulani
