God desires his favor to rest on you.
Psalm 90:17 (NIV) says, "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us yes, establish the work of our hands."
God's favor on you is his grace.
His favor is a gift to you.
It's part of the grace package.
There are times when you are trying to work something out.
You find yourself overthinking about it.
Yet, God's favor is on standby, ready to help you.
It takes faith to believe God's favor is on you.
It takes resting in God to experience God's favor.
One meaning of rest is to rest from mental exertion.
Mental exertion can be overthinking.
You witness God's favor moving in a situation when you rest in God.
Quieting your mind from the issue is one way to rest in God.
The following is a prayer to rest in God:
Pray the following prayer,
Lord,
I make the decision now to stop thinking about ________ (tell God what is bothering you). I believe you will give me rest from this situation because I am in right standing with you. I give you my care and worry about this situation. I receive by faith your instruction and guidance to move past this circumstance with your freedom, peace, and confidence. I affirm your rest surrounds me.
Thank you for giving me rest.
