The Power of Discipline

Faith, trust, and confidence in the Lord open your mind to moving beyond life circumstances.

Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Whenever men and women straighten their backs up, they are going somewhere, because a man can’t ride your back unless it is bent.”

My family and I took a picture during my daughter’s high school musical. My back is bent while everyone is standing tall.

Life circumstances invaded my mind and showed in my physical posture. When you allow circumstances to remain in your mind, your posture becomes bent.

One way to have faith, trust, and confidence in the Lord is to receive a sound mind from Him.

God-given desires are achieved with a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) states, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

 A sound mind is a mind with discipline and self-control.

The Lord made your mind to use discipline to move you forward.

Job 36:10 (KJV) states, "He openeth also their ear to discipline..."

Discipline is your power to move beyond life circumstances.
